The prof demo-ed induction heating via a parallel resonant converter, similar to the ballast circuits that spark-start fluorescent lights. He also brought a frying pan, cooking oil, and an egg. "Over easy?" Not sure if it's actually edible though, since the pan looks rusty :-P
When I took the intro circuit class w/ him, I found him a bit monotonous partly because it's a large lecture hall. But he's actually sort of snarky. The colored chalks is also a plus. :-)
And the high-voltage components can kill - just as how the physics prof was swinging on a pendulum...
